The couple celebrated a full Mass with their guests and added personalized touches for an intimate feeling. As the couple recited their vows, Father Bernie Schloemer stood with his back to the congregation so that the couple could face friends and family. "We also personalized the Prayer of the Faithful by adding the names of those close to us who were sick or had passed away," Coury says.
Each of the bridesmaids wore a strapless empire-waist dress in plaid of varying colors of burgundy, fuchsia, plum, and silver. Coury chose a simple look: Her white strapless sheath had only a bit of pearl and sequin beading at the empire waist.
As an archway of lights lit up the altar, Jamie arrived to the sound of bagpipes, which was a special gift from his bride, Coury.
The wedding cake was a showstopper, displayed in the center of the dance floor surrounded by candles and more bright flowers. The three-tier white confection with raspberry and tiramisu filling was topped with white icing and fresh flowers.
After taking photos, the newlyweds joined their guests for the reception at Windows Off Washington. "It was a beautiful night, so many people took advantage of the veranda that overlooked the city," says Coury.
The newlyweds took their first dance to "Unforgettable." A nonstop party ensued, with the band playing everything from soul to disco to rock music.
Jamie Manley didn't want much for his 28th birthday; he only wanted to spend the rest of his life with the woman of his dreams. "After Jamie opened his presents, he got down on one knee and said, 'All I want for my birthday is you,'" says Coury Hartman, remembering that fateful day. "I really didn't understand what he was trying to say until he opened the box and popped the question."

THE DATE May 11

Coury and Jamie first met at a coworker's Christmas party. Though they barely spoke to each other, six months later a mutual friend hinted to Coury that Jamie was interested. "We went out once and have seen each other almost every day since that first date," says Coury.
